Plane Carrying 83 Passengers Crashes in Afghanistan

A Boeing 737-400 plane carrying over 80 passengers belonging to Ariana Afghan Airlines has crashed in the remote and mountainous Deh Yak district in eastern Ghazni province in Afghanistan on Monday, January 27, 2020.

According to reports, 83 people were on board when the plane went down south-west of Kabul at about 9 a.m. Nigerian time on Monday.

It was disclosed that the plane was flying from Herat to Ghazni when the crash occurred.

As at the time of the report, the cause of the crash has not been revealed as well as the number of casualties. It was, however, gathered that the plane crashed in a territory under Taliban control.
