Apprehension as Secondary School Collapses on Students Writing Exams in Jos

Residents of Busa Buji community of the Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State have been thrown into confusion after a storey building used as a secondary school in the area collapsed.

According to reports, the school, Saint’s Academy, a two-storey building, collapsed on some students writing their promotional examinations on Friday morning.

It was gathered that the property caved in at about 11 am, trapping many students under the rubble, with rescue efforts ongoing after the arrival of first responders. The section of the school that collapsed is said to be where the classes of SS1, SS2 and SS3 students are.

Business Post gathered that shortly after the news of the unfortunate incident spread, several parents of the students and others rushed to the premises of the school, wailing uncontrollably.

Already, some security officials, including members of the Nigeria Police Force and others are making efforts to calm nerves, while medical attention is being given to a few students already rescued.
