There was a 0.04 per cent depreciation at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange on Tuesday, November 5.
Three securities were responsible for the decline recorded by the unlisted stock market, with Afriland Properties Plc losing 50 Kobo to end at N16.50 per share compared with the previous day’s N17.00 per share.
Further, Acorn Petroleum Plc went down by 1 Kobo to settle at N1.98 per unit versus the preceding session’s N1.99 per unit, and the Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) lost 5 Kobo to finish at N21.50 per share, in contrast to Monday’s closing price of N21.55 per share.
However, the share price of UBN Property Plc increased by 9 Kobo during the trading day to N1.79 per unit compared with the previous day’s N1.70 per unit.
Data showed that the weak investor sentiment sapped the market capitalisation of the bourse by N450 million yesterday to N1.042 trillion from the N1.043 trillion recorded a day earlier, and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) gave up 1.28 points to end the day at 2,974.64 points as against 2,975.92 points it recorded at the previous session.
The activity chart revealed that the volume of securities traded at the bourse went down by 87.7 per cent to 79,085 units from 642,740 units, the value of stocks bought and sold declined by 71.7 per cent to N994,889 from N3.5 million, and the number of deals dwindled by 30 per cent to seven deals from the 10 deals achieved in the previous trading day.
At the close of business, Geo-Fluids Plc remained the most active stock by volume (year-to-date) with 1.6 billion units worth N3.8 billion, followed by Okitipupa Plc with 751.3 million units valued at N7.7 billion, and Afriland Properties Plc with 296.6 million units sold for N5.3 million.
Similarly, Aradel Holdings Plc remained the most active stock by value (year-to-date) with 108.7 million units sold for N89.2 billion, trailed by Okitipupa Plc with 751.3 million units valued at N7.7 billion, and Afriland Properties Plc with 296.6 million units worth N5.3 billion.
