Three Securities Lift NASD OTC Exchange by 0.69%

Three stocks lifted the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange by 0.69 per cent on Wednesday, September 24, with the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) up by 24.34 points to 3,555.06 points from the previous day’s 3,530.72 points, and the market capitalisation rising by N14.57 billion to N2.127 trillion from N2.112 trillion.

During the session, 11 Plc gained N15.99 to close at N225.00 per share compared with Tuesday’s closing price of N209.01 per share, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc expanded by N4.00 to finish at N60.00 per unit versus N56.00 per unit, and Lagos Building Investment Company (LBIC) Plc added 26 Kobo to close at N2.92 per share, in contrast to the preceding day’s N2.66 per share.

On the flip side, the price of Acorn Petroleum Plc went down by 1 Kobo to end at N1.31 per unit compared with the N1.32 per unit it was traded a day earlier.

At midweek, the volume of securities traded fell by 22.0 per cent to 2.1 million units from the previous 2.7 million units, while the value of securities jumped by 1,991.9 per cent to N292.9 million from N13.0 million, and the number of deals surged by 57.9 per cent to 30 deals from 19 deals.

Okitipupa Plc was still the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 160.2 million units sold for N6.2 billion, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units worth N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 45.1 million units valued at N2.0 billion.

Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc maintained its position as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.2 billion units worth N418.6 million, trailed by Impresit Bakolori Plc with 536.9 million units traded for N524.8 million, and Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units transacted for N4.2 billion.
