Abbey Mortgage Bank Management’s Creative Policies Yield Results

The various creative policies put in place by the management of Abbey Mortgage Bank aimed to reposition the company and make it a leading player in the sector are already yielding positive results.

At the recent African Housing Awards, the financial institution established to provide support to stakeholders in the real estate business was announced as the winner of the Innovative Mortgage Bank Awards 2021

The Executive Director in charge of Treasury, Operations and Construction Finance, Mr Oladipupo Adeoye, who received the award on behalf of the company, dedicated it to the team at Abbey Mortgage Bank.

He attributed the feat to the deliberate efforts of the team to ensure that the firm was re-positioned as the leading mortgage bank out of Africa.

He also expressed gratitude to the board, partners and customers who believed in the Abbey journey, and the value the organisation creates.

“We are honoured to be receiving this award. It is a reflection of the continuous effort of management towards providing creative solutions for our clients,” Mr Adeoye stated.

On her part, the Group Head of Corporate Services at Abbey Mortgage Bank, Ms Bukola Ewedairo, expressed delight over the recognition from African Housing Awards.

She stated that “closing the year with this award is an indication of the positive outcome of our transformation journey, rebranding exercise and the launch of our digital channels, our USSD code *5103#, internet banking and mobile app; and we are indeed proud to receive this award.”

Abbey Mortgage Bank was established by Mrs Rose Ada Okwechime, a consummate banker and entrepreneur who is vast in the corporate world and has decades of experience. She retired from the bank as Managing Director in 2020.

The company has the vision to be the leading mortgage bank out of Africa, with its governance policies and processes tailored to help it to deliver excellence in service delivery.
