GTBank to Alternate Opening of Branches Every Week

Image

By Modupe Gbadeyanka

The management of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) Plc has said despite the gradual easing of lockdown in Abuja, Lagos and Ogun States by the federal government, all its branches will not open for business at once like in the past.

The federal government had announced a lockdown of Lagos, Ogun and Abuja five weeks ago to contain the spread COVID-19 in the country.

Last Monday, President Muhammadu Buhari eased the lockdown, but said businesses must operate within the hours of 7am to 7pm because of a national curfew starting from 8pm to 6am until a further directive.

In a notice to its customers, GTBank said it will “re-open our branches” in some states of the federation “gradually and as safely as we can.”

In the emailed message, which was seen by Business Post, the tier-one lender said, “For now, we will be alternating the opening of our branches every week. This means that we will advise you on a weekly basis of the branches open to serve you.”

It noted that the branches will be open between the hours of 9am and 1pm, from Monday, May 4, 2020 to Friday, May 8, 2020.
