Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) Plc has announced a change in the date of closure of register of its shareholders.

This week, the financial institution released its earnings for the first six months of this year and thereafter announced the payment of an interim dividend in the sum of 30 kobo per ordinary share of 50 kobo subject to appropriate withholding tax deduction.

It had earlier said the interim dividend payment would be paid to shareholders whose name appear in the register of members as at the close of business on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 with the register of shareholders closed on Wednesday, August 22, 2018.

However, the lender, in another statement some hours later, said it had learnt that the Wednesday, August 22, 2018 date for the closure of its register in respect of the payment of the interim dividend for the half year ended June 30, 2018, may likely be declared a public holiday by the federal government of Nigeria to mark the Muslim celebrations.

“In the light of the above, GTBank hereby notifies its esteemed shareholders of an adjustment of the closure of register as announced on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.

“Consequently, the closure of register has been revised to Thursday, August 16, 2018, while the qualification date will be Wednesday, August 15, 2018.

“The bank has accordingly, published a revised corporate action on the NSE’s website for the guidance of the investing public,” the bank said.
