Nigeria @60: IBEDC Pledges Commitment to National Development

Nigerians have been congratulated on the 60th independence anniversary by the management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC), with the energy firm pledging its commitment to the development of the nation.
In a statement issued by the company, its Chief Operating Officer (COO), Engr. John Ayodele, urged Nigerians to continue to contribute to the development of the nation.
According to him, IBEDC will continue to play its role in national development through excellent service delivery, improved quality power supply, prompt response to customers’ complaints and bridging the metering gap across our franchise and setting a new order in the power chain.
Mr Ayodele described electricity as the “engine room that drives the development of the economy of any country.”
While wishing the company’s esteemed customers a happy Independence Day, Mr Ayodele emphasised that “the sacrifices and the ideologies of the founding fathers should remain the watchwords for a united and an indivisible country.”
He also urged energy users under the coverage network of the company to “reach us via our customer care channels – call: 07001239999, email: customercare@ibedc.com and Customer.ibedc.com through the holiday to make enquiries or report faults.”
He implored customers to take advantage of the firm’s hassle-free payment platforms- Fetswallet, Quick teller, etransact, Payarena, ATM, Jumia and USSD to pay their electricity bills promptly and vend to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the public holiday.
“Our offices will remain open during the holiday from 9am-3pm to attend to customers for enquires, complaints, bill payment, vending and other related issues,” he said.
He advised motorists to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol and observe traffic rules to prevent collision with electric poles and other forms of accidents.

Airtel Employees Donate Routers to Lagos Secondary School

Some routers loaded with 100GB of data and a two-month roll-over access fee have been donated to a government-owned secondary school in Lagos, Kuramo College, by employees of Airtel Nigeria.
The items were given to the school by Airtel employees under the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, Employee Volunteer Scheme Initiative.
The routers, specifically donated by the Airtel Information and Technology team, are expected to aid digital learning in the school and boost the knowledge of the students.
“Airtel aims to empower young minds by equipping them with the connectivity to imagine and unlock a world of knowledge and opportunities.
“For Airtel, it is no longer about being a smartphone network but giving people a reason to imagine so that people can explore the possibilities powered by technology and connectivity.
“The world is evolving; young Nigerians now have access to unlimited possibilities and can now create their job titles and descriptions, which is why we now have YouTubers, social media Influencers and the likes,” the Director of Information and Technology at Airtel Nigeria, Mr Seun Solanke, said.
He encouraged the students to maximize the provision of connectivity to back up their future imaginations with the right information and resources to ensure a bright future.
The activities under the Airtel Nigeria Employee Volunteer Scheme, said Airtel management, aligns with the company’s commitment to bridging the digital divide in the country and enabling students to leverage the power of the internet, as the distribution of routers with data plans will ensure that students have uninterrupted access to educational resources, research materials, and online learning platforms, regardless of their socio-economic background.

Zoho Grows User Base to 90 million, Posts 65% Upmarket Growth
