A leading public relations practitioner, Mrs Nkechi Ali-Balogun, is eying the leadership position at the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
The organisation has fixed Thursday, August 24, 2023, for its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and will use the occasion to elect new leaders.
Mrs Ali-Balogun says she has all it takes to lead the group and take it to greater heights, especially because she performed a similar feat during her time as the first female Chairperson of the Lagos Chapter of NIPR.
“I am running for this office because I want to continue to dedicate my time, energy, and experience to championing the interests of our Institute.
“As President, my vision for the Institute will be centred on working together to shape the future of public relations and establish our organisation as a trailblazer,” the PR expert assured.
Mrs Ali-Balogun, a prominent member of the Governing Council of NIPR, has tagged her campaign as PR Future Forward.
She promised to bring her wealth of experience as a PR consultant of over 25 years to bear in the running of the national body of practitioners in the country.
With a 10-point major campaign focus which she has summarized under the acronym CRANE, geared at creativity, responsiveness, aspirational NIPR, injecting freshness and encompassing, she intends to focus on a digitalised institute where NIPR will leverage technology in the delivery of her offerings and services.
Mrs Ali-Balogun said she intends to run an online curriculum for the Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programmes (MCPD) and an online certification of aspiring practitioners, saying this would make the process more convenient and cost-effective for all stakeholders.
