Afriland Properties Plc and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc dragged downwards the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange further by 0.31 per cent on Wednesday, June 5.

Afriland Properties Plc went down by N1.54 to end at N16.15 per unit compared with the preceding day’s N17.69 per unit, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc expanded by N2.16 to close at N45.57 per share, in contrast to Tuesday’s closing price of N47.73 per share.

As a result, the market capitalisation lost N6.34 billion to finish at N2.040 trillion compared with the previous day’s N2.046 trillion, and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) depleted by 4.62 points to wrap the session at 1,488.81 points compared with 1,493.43 points recorded at the previous session.

The volume of securities traded during the midweek session went down by 86.7 per cent to 403,042 units from 3.0 million units of the previous session, and the value of shares traded yesterday finished lower by 52.2 per cent to N111.4 million from the N232.9 million achieved a day earlier, and the number of deals decreased by 42.7 per cent to 39 deals from the preceding session’s 68 deals.

Aradel Holdings Plc was the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 5.9 million units valued at N14.6 billion, followed by Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc with 101.1 million units sold for N2.5 billion, and Capital Hotels Plc with 228.6 million units worth N1.1 billion.

Capital Hotels Plc was the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 228.6 million units valued at N1.1 billion, trailed by Mixta Real Estate Plc with the sale of 139.8 million units for N240.1 million, and CSCS Plc with 101.1 million units worth N2.5 billion.
