The appreciation in the stock prices of Aradel Holdings Plc and Air Liquide Plc expanded the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange by 2.19 per cent on Monday, January 22.
Aradel Plc continued its bullish run during the trading day with a price growth of N150.72 to sell at N1,657.94 per unit compared to last Friday’s price of N1,507.22 per unit, and Air Liquide Plc gained 60 Kobo to quote at N6.65 per share versus the preceding session’s N6.05 per share.
On the flip side, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) lost 45 Kobo to sell at N19.50 per share versus N19.95 per share, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria slid by 11 Kobo to close to N79.84 per unit versus N79.95 per unit, UBN Property Plc dropped 5 Kobo to end at N1.75 per unit compared with the previous session’s N1.80 per unit, First Trust Microfinance Bank Plc declined by 2 Kobo to 41 Kobo per share from 43 Kobo per share, and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc depreciated by 2 Kobo to 24 Kobo per unit from 26 Kobo per unit.
When trading activities were ended for the day, the market capitalisation of the bourse went up by N29.73 billion to N1.388 trillion from N1.358 trillion, and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) grew by 21.93 points to end the day at 1,023.99 points, in contrast to last Friday’s 1,002.06 points.
The volume of securities traded at the bourse yesterday surged by 352.5 per cent to 2.1 million units from 462,448 units, the value of securities increased by 49.6 per cent to N27.5 million from N18.4 million, and the number of deals appreciated by 177.8 per cent to 25 deals from nine deals.
IPWA Plc remained the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with the sale of 48.9 million units worth N24.4 million, UBN Property was in second place with 30.0 million units valued at N52.3 million, and Geo-Fluids Plc stood in third place with 20.0 million units worth N48.0 million.
Aradel Plc closed as the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with 314,872 units valued at N389.0 million, FrieslandCampina Plc has transacted 1.3 million units worth N99.8 million, and UBN Properties Plc has traded 30.0 million units valued at N52.3 million.
