CBN Holds 268th MPC Meeting July 22

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has disclosed that its 268th Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting will take place next Monday.

A notice released by the apex bank said the meeting will hold on Monday, July 22 and Tuesday, July 23, 2019.

It further said members of the committee will gathered for the important monetary policy meeting at the MPC Meeting Room, 11th Floor, Wing C, CBN Corporate Headquarters, Abuja.

During the meeting, members of the committee will deliberate on the macroeconomic figures and see if they should remain at the previous levels, be raised or lowered.

At the last meeting, the committee retained the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) at 13.50 percent, with the CRR left at 22.50 percent and the Liquidity Ratio at 30 percent.

The committee is headed by Governor of the central bank, Mr Godwin Emefiele, who most times addresses the media on outcome of the all-important meeting on the second day of the meeting.

Next week’s will be taking place seven days after the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released inflation data for the month of June 2019, where inflation slowed to 11.22 percent from 11.40 percent in May 2019.

OPEC Raises 2021 Oil Demand by 6.6% to 5.95 bpd
