CSCS, Aradel Holdings Trigger 0.76% Loss at NASD Bourse

There was a 0.76 per cent loss at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange on Wednesday, April 3, triggered by the depleting of the share prices of the duo of Aradel Holdings Plc and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc.

CSCS Plc recorded a decline of N1.20 during the session to trade at N22.00 per unit compared with the N23.20 per unit it closed in the previous session, and Aradel Holdings Plc lost N25.76 to end at N2,200 per share versus the previous session’s N2,225.76 per share.

Consequently, the market capitalisation of the NASD bourse went down by N11.20 billion to close at N1.507 trillion compared with Tuesday’s N1.518 trillion, and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) recorded a slide of 8.55 points to end the day at 1,112 points as against 1,120.55 points it recorded in the previous session.

In terms of the volume of securities traded at the bourse yesterday, there was a 170.1 per cent jump as investors exchanged 500,528 units, in contrast to the 185,331 units transacted a day earlier.

However, the total amount of stocks traded by the market participants at the session declined by 15 per cent to N91.3 million from N106.9 million, while the number of deals increased by 58.3 per cent to 19 deals from 12 deals.

IPWA Plc remained the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 79.9 million units sold for N40.0 million, followed by Mixta Real Estate Plc with 69.9 million units worth N114.6 million, and Geo-Fluids Plc with a turnover of 58.8 million units valued at N146.3 million.

Aradel Holdings Plc, with a turnover of 3.4 million units valued at N6.8 billion, remained the most active equity by value on a year-to-date basis, trailed by CSCS Plc with the sale of 43.2 million units for N1.2 billion, and  FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with a turnover of 5.1 million units worth N381.4 million.
