Friesland Lifts Unlisted OTC Stock Exchange by 1.01%

FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc helped the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange record a 1.01 per cent gain on Thursday, April 27, as it returned to positive territory.

The unlisted OTC stock exchange had its value moved up by N10.19 billion during the session to in its valuation to close at N1.017 trillion compared with the preceding day’s N1.006 trillion, and the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) expanded by 7.36 points at the close of transactions to 735.26 points as against the 727.90 points it recorded at the previous session.

FrieslandCampina Wamco, the sole gainer, saw a N6.93 gain to close at N83.00 per unit versus N76.07 per unit, while the share price of Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc went down by 67 Kobo to close at N12.33 per unit compared with Wednesday’s value of N13.00 per unit.

The volume of securities traded at the bourse yesterday depreciated by 96.9 per cent to 86,660 units from the 2.8 million units transacted by market participants on Wednesday.

Also, the value of shares traded yesterday tanked by 24.1 per cent to N5.8 million from the N7.6 million recorded a day earlier, while the number of deals executed by investors went up by 28.6 per cent to nine deals from the seven deals carried out by traders in the preceding trading day.

At the close of business, Geo-Fluids Plc remained the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 820.8 million units valued at N1.3 billion, followed by Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc with 615.6 units worth N48.6 million, and UBN Property Plc with 369.8 million units valued at N313.0 million.

Similarly, VFD Group Plc ended the session as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 10.4 million units worth N2.4 billion, followed by Geo-Fluids Plc with 820.8 million units worth N1.3 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 4.7 million units valued at N325.6 million.
