The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a 2.7 per cent appreciation on Monday, June 24, triggered by gains from the duo of FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc and Aradel Holdings Plc.
FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc rose by N3.37 to sell at N47.78 per unit versus N44.48 per unit, and Aradel Holdings Plc grew by N231.18 to end the session at N5,234.33 per share compared with last Friday’s N5,003.15 per share.
As a result of this, the portfolios of investors at the bourse increased by N56.80 billion, with the market capitalisation closing at N2.158 trillion compared with the previous session’s N2.1o1 trillion and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) made an addition of 41.45 points to wrap the session at 1,574.98 points compared with 1,533.53 points recorded at the previous session.
Yesterday, the volume of securities transacted in the opening session of the week went down by 75.3 per cent to 216,546 units from the 877,812 units traded in the preceding session.
However, there was a jump in the value of shares traded yesterday by 569.5 per cent to N313.1 million from the N46.8 million recorded in the last trading session.
These trades were completed in 57 deals, 119.2 per cent higher than the 26 deals carried out in the preceding trading day.
Aradel Holdings Plc closed the day as the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 6.1 million units valued at N16.0 billion, trailed by Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc with a turnover of 101.4 million units worth N2.5 billion, and Capital Hotels Plc sold 228.6 million units for N1.1 billion.
Capital Hotels Plc finished as the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 228.6 million units valued at N1.1 billion, followed by Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc with the sale of 218.8 million units for N46.1 million, and Mixta Real Estate Plc with 139.8 million units sold for N240.1 million.
