Recently, the federal government said as part of its efforts to support business owners in the country, it would register businesses of entrepreneurs for free.

The gesture is part of the survival fund created to cushion the harsh effect of COVID-19 on business owners. The initiative is specifically targeted at micro and small entrepreneurs, artisans, craftsmen/women (one or more persons) that are yet to formalise their businesses.

The federal government said the free registration is for 6,606 people in each of the 34 states while Abuja, Lagos and Kano will have 7,906, 9,084 and 8,406 respectively.

Business Post is presenting the simple steps those who intend to benefit from this gesture can take to register their businesses for free.

Before registering for the free business name, entrepreneurs would be required to provide three proposed names, date of commencement of the business, the type of business, location, bio-data of the owners, scanned passport photograph, valid means of identification.

It is important to note that beneficiaries are expected to scan the completed form in PDF format together with a scanned copy of recognised and valid photo identification (data page of international passport, driver’s license, national identity card or voter’s card) and sent via email to the aggregator of their relevant state, which can be viewed HERE.
