Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has disclosed that his administration has done a lot to improve the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
Mr Amosun made this disclosure on Friday when he received President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Mr Titus Soetan, who led other top members of the institute to a courtesy visit at his Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta office.
The Governor, while reacting to commendations from the ICAN President on the IGR growth in the state, noted that Ogun has moved from the 29th position to 2nd in the area of IGR generation in the country.
During the visit, Mr Amosun admonished professionals to take active part in the political process, saying this is a potent tool for contributing their quota to the development of the nation.
He added that his administration is committed to leaving an enduring legacy that coming generations would build on stating that the forebears of the state left a very high standard.
The Governor further revealed that Ogun State has the highest number of people who have led ICAN which makes the state the home of Accountants.
Speaking earlier, the ICAN President had expressed delight at the pace of infrastructural development in Ogun State.
Speaking with newsmen in an interview, the ICAN President called on professionals to support the economic diversification policy of the federal government by being employers of labour and not mere job seekers.
