One of the leading players in the pension fund administration (PFA) in Nigeria, Leadway Pensure, has warned its customers to be careful of some fraudsters claiming to be from the company.

The firm, in a message sent to its customers on Monday, November 16, 2020, noted that these persons have been going about to “misrepresent the Leadway Pensure PFA brand.”

“It has come to our notice that certain unscrupulous individuals, attempting to impersonate or misrepresent the Leadway Pensure PFA brand, mandate customers to pay money to expedite their retirement benefits processing or for a Ponzi investment scheme.

“Such offers and claims are fraudulent, please do not respond to such request,” Leadway Pensure, which is one of the most capitalised PFA in the country with an authorised share capital of N2.0 billion, stated in a message to its clients.

“Kindly be informed that Leadway Pensure PFA shall not make such request or mandate an RSA holder to make payment for retirement benefits processing or for any services it renders.

“Applying for retirement benefits is the right of every eligible Retirement Savings Accounts holder, under the conditions as specified by the National Pension Commission (PENCOM).

“All benefits payment applications submitted by our customers are handled strictly in line with the PENCOM regulations for the processing of retirement benefits,” the company further said.

Customers of the firm have been urged them to report any act of fraud to [email protected].
