The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended its rise in the green territory by 6.8 per cent on Wednesday, with the market capitalisation rising by N221.49 billion to N3.481 trillion from N3.259 trillion in the preceding session.
In the same vein, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) increased its value by 161.44 points to wrap the session at 2,537.46 points compared with 2,376.01 points recorded in the previous session.
This significant rise happened after the bourse ended with six price gainers, with Acorn Petroleum chalking up 11 Kobo to sell at N1.23 per share versus the preceding session’s N1.12 per share.
In addition, Aradel Holdings Plc gained N47.76 to quote at N564.74 per unit compared with the previous day’s N516.96 per unit, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc improved by N3.18 to close at N47.18 per share versus N44.00 per share, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc rose by N1.12 to end the session at N21.62 per unit versus the preceding closing rate of N20.50 per unit, and Geo-Fluids Plc expanded by 3 Kobo to settle at N3.05 per share, in contrast to Monday’s closing price of N3.02.
There was a marginal 1.7 per cent slide in the volume of securities traded in the midweek session to 21.5 million units from 21.9 million units, the trading value went down by 60.5 per cent to N607.5 million from N1.5 billion, and the number of deals increased by 10.5 per cent to 126 deals from the 114 deals carried out in the previous trading day.
Aradel Holdings Plc was the most active stock by value (year-to-date) with 14.2 million units worth N46.1 billion, Okitipupa Plc came next with 750.9 million units valued at N7.7 billion, and Afriland Properties Plc was in third with 295.7 million units sold for N5.3 billion.
Geo-Fluids Plc closed the day as the most active stock by volume (year-to-date) with 944.8 million units sold for N2.6 billion, Okitipupa Plc came next with 750.9 million units valued at N7.7 billion, and Afriland Properties Plc followed with 295.7 million units worth N5.3 million.
