NASD Index Remains at 719.40 points

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded no movement as the benchmark indices remained unchanged at the close of business on Wednesday, November 11.

At the bourse, the market capitalisation closed at N528.44 billion as it did at the previous session while the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) equally made no movement from 719.40 points.

However, the activity chart showed movements as the trading volume declined by 22.9 per cent as a result of the 78,453 units of securities transacted by investors during the session in contrast to 101,780 units of securities transacted by market participants on Tuesday.

In addition, the value of the transactions went down by 20.7 per cent following the N24.9 million worth of stocks traded by investors at the session, lower than the N31.4 million made on Tuesday.

Business Post reports that these trades came from two deals, lower than the six deals achieved the prior day by 66.7 per cent or four deals.

Data obtained from the exchange showed that the two deals recorded on Wednesday were executed on FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc and Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc.

When trading activities for the day were wrapped up, ARM Life Plc maintained its position as the most active stock by volume (year-to-date) for trading 7.4 billion units of its shares worth N4.6 billion. It was followed by Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc, which has transacted 203.5 million units of its securities worth N2.7 billion, and Food Concepts Plc, which has exchanged 128.1 million units of its shares worth N90.2 million.

Equally, ARM Life Plc also remained the most traded stock on NASD Exchange by value (year-to-date) for trading 7.4 billion units of its securities valued at N4.6 billion. The second place was occupied by NDEP Plc for exchanging 10.4 million units of its securities for N3.4 billion, while the third spot was filled by CSCS Plc, which has traded 203.5 million units for N2.7 billion.
