NASD OTC Exchange Appreciates 0.57% in Last Session for 2022

The last trading session on the floor of the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange in 2022 ended on a positive note as it appreciated by 0.57 per cent on Friday, December 29.

Four companies were responsible for the growth recorded at the NASD OTC exchange yesterday. These gainers were Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, and UBN Property Plc.

NDEP Plc appreciated by N10.90 to close at N197.78 per share compared with the previous closing price of N186 per share, CSCS Plc recorded a 46 Kobo jump to N12.46 per unit from N12.00 per unit, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc improved by 38 Kobo to N67.38 per unit from N67.00 per unit, and UBN Property Plc added 7 Kobo to its value to close at 80 Kobo per share versus Thursday’s 73 Kobo per share.

However, the share price of VFD Group went down yesterday by 88 Kobo to settle at N244.00 per unit, in contrast to the preceding session’s N244.88 per unit.

The gains reported by the four stocks pushed the market capitalization of the bourse higher by N5.25 billion to N932.51 billion from N927.26 billion, as the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) increased by 3.99 points to wrap the session at 709.66 points compared with 705.67 points recorded at the previous session.

During the session, there was a drop in the volume of securities traded at the bourse by 97.5 per cent 1.09 million units from 43.4 million units.

However, the value of shares traded yesterday rose by 273.5 per cent to N126.6 million from N33.9 million, while the number of deals increased by 200 per cent to 33 deals from 11 deals.

AG Mortgage Bank Plc closed the session as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis, with the sale of 2.3 billion units worth N1.2 billion. CSCS Plc stood in second place with 688.6 million units worth N14.3 billion, while Lighthouse Financial Services Plc was in third place with 224.7 million units valued at N112.3 million.

Also, CSCS Plc was the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with a turnover of 688.6 million units valued at N14.3 billion, followed by VFD Group Plc with 29.4 million units valued at N7.7 billion, and FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc with a turnover of 18.6 million units worth N2.0 billion.
