NASD OTC Exchange Extends Rally by 0.02%

For the third straight session, the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange remained in positive territory as it recorded a marginal rise of 0.02 per cent on Wednesday, March 1.

At the Monday and Tuesday sessions, the market had risen by a small margin and this continued into the midweek session with the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) growing by 0.11 points to wrap the session at 715.40 points compared with 715.29 points of the previous session.

Also, the valuation of the NASD OTC exchange increased yesterday by N150 million to settle at N940.02 billion, in contrast to the N939.72 billion it finished on Tuesday.

During the session, the volume of securities traded at the bourse by investors decreased by 20.4 per cent to 450,050 units from 565,247 units.

In the same vein, the value of shares traded at the session went down by 95.2 per cent to N900,043.00 from the N18.8 million reported a day earlier.

Similarly, the number of deals executed by market participants declined during the session by 83.3 per cent to two deals from the 12 deals carried out on Tuesday.

Business Post reports that the alternative bourse had a single price mover and it was Afriland Properties Plc, which gained 11 Kobo to quote at N2.00 per unit, in contrast to the previous trading day’s price of N1.89 per unit.

Data showed that Geo-Fluids Plc remained the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 344.8 million units valued at N343.7 million, UBN Property Plc trailed with 294.0 units worth N247.8 million, and VFD Group Plc was in third place with 7.2 million units valued at N1.6 billion.

The most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis was VFD Group Plc with the sale of 7.2 million units worth N1.6 billion, Geo-Fluids Plc traded 344.8 million units worth N343.7 million to occupy second place, while UBN Property Plc was in third place with 294.0 million units valued at N247.8 million.
