NASD OTC Exchange Records Marginal Gain

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a marginal rise of 0.02 per cent on Wednesday, February 14 as the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) increased by 0.27 points to wrap the session at 1,142.72 points compared with 1,142.45 points of the previous session.

Also, the market capitalisation of alternative exchange slightly went up by N370 million at midweek to remain relatively flat at N1.549 trillion.

During the trading day, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc was the lone price gainer, adding 39 Kobo to its share price to close at N75.39 per unit compared with the N75.00 per unit it ended a day earlier.

But the price of Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc fell by 2 Kobo yesterday to settle at 22 Kobo per share versus Tuesday’s closing price of 24 Kobo per share, and UBN Property Plc also lost 2 Kobo to trade at N1.73 per unit, in contrast to the preceding session’s N1.75 per unit.

On the activity log, the volume of securities traded at the bourse went down by 91.1 per cent to 935,035 units from 10.5 million units, the value of shares traded depreciated by 8.4 per cent to N35.8 million from N39.0 million, while the number of deals went up by 91.7 per cent to 23 deals from the 12 deals executed in the previous trading day.

At the close of business, Mixta Real Estate Plc remained the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 69.9 million units valued at N114.5 million, IPWA Plc was in second place with 48.9 million units worth N24.4 million, and Geo-Fluids Plc was in third place with the sale of 40.3 million units for N99.3 million.

Similarly, Aradel Holdings Plc ended the session as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 988,250 units valued at N1.8 billion, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc followed with 3.1 million units worth N238.0 million, and Mixta Real Estate Plc was in third place with a turnover of 69.9 million units valued at N114.5 million.
