NASD OTC Exchange Records Stalemate

The key performance indicators of the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange remained unchanged at the close of transactions on Tuesday amid a mixed activity level chart.

Business Post reports that the stalemate occurred after the NASD OTC exchange recorded no price gainer or loser, as the prices of stocks on the platform closed flat.

Also, the total value of the alternative equity market, measured by the market capitalisation, remained unchanged at N1.138 trillion, and the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) closed flat at 805.29 points.

During the trading session, investors traded a total of 501,437 units of securities, in contrast to the 505,757 units of securities transacted in the preceding session, indicating a slump of 0.9 per cent.

Also, the total number of deals carried out yesterday depreciated by 76.2 per cent to five deals compared with the 21 deals executed in the preceding trading day.

However, the value of shares exchanged by the market participants went higher by 37 per cent to N9.6 million from the N6.9 million recorded on Monday.

At the close of business, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc was the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 1.1 billion units valued at N22.2 billion, UBN Property Plc was in second place with 924.2 million units worth N917.5 million and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc stood in third place with 647.5 units worth N52.6 million.

Also, CSCS Plc closed the trading session as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 1.1 billion units worth N22.2 billion, VFD Group followed with 26.5 million units valued at N5.9 billion, and Aradel Holdings Plc was in third place with 6.0 million units valued at N2.1 billion.
