Afriland Properties Plc pulled down the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange by 0.06 per cent on Friday, May 3 after its share price went down by 65 Kobo to N11.20 per unit from N11.85 per unit.

Business Post reports that the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) fell by 0.65 points to wrap the final session of the week at 1,094.65 points compared with 1,095.30 points recorded in the previous session, and the market capitalisation lost N680 million to close at N1.499 trillion, in contrast to Thursday’s closing value of N1.499 trillion.

During the session, there was a slump in the volume of shares traded by investors by 9.3 per cent, as 32,226 units of securities were traded compared with the 35,541 units of securities transacted a day earlier.

However, there was a rise in the value of securities traded by the market participants by 3,799 per cent, as shares worth N40.3 million exchanged hands, in contrast to the N1.0 million recorded in the preceding session.

These transactions were carried out in 11 deals compared with the sex deals executed on the previous trading day, representing an increase of 83.3 per cent.

The most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis was Aradel Holdings Plc with a turnover of 4.1 million units valued at N8.0 billion, closely followed by Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc with the sale of 45.3 million units for N1.3 billion, and Capital Hotels Plc with a turnover of 228.6 million worth N1.1 billion.

The most traded equity by volume on a year-to-date basis was Capital Hotels Plc, which has sold 228.6 million units for N1.1 billion, trailed by IPWA Plc with the sale of 79.9 million units for N40.0 million, and Mixta Real Estate Plc with a turnover of 69.9 million units valued at N114.6 million.
