NASD OTC Stocks Appreciate 0.53%

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange closed the final trading session of the week on a positive note, with a 0.53 per cent growth on Friday, January 20.

The market’s outcome was influenced by the gains in the share prices of four securities; FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc, UBN Property Plc, and Geo Fluids Plc.

They added N4.87 billion to the NASD market capitalisation, closing at N928.96 billion compared with the preceding session’s N924.09 billion.

In the same vein, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) appreciated by 3.71 points to end the day at 706.97 points as against the 703.26 points it recorded in the previous session.

FrieslandCampina WAMCO Plc made an 88 Kobo gain during the session to close at N65.00 per share compared to the N64.12 per share it traded the previous day, CSCS Plc grew by 50 Kobo to close at N13.00 per unit against N12.50 per unit, UBN Property Plc expanded by 7 Kobo to end at 78 Kobo per unit versus Thursday’s 71 Kobo per unit, while Geo-Fluids Plc made a 6 Kobo appreciation to sell at 82 Kobo per share, in contrast to the prior day’s 76 Kobo per share.

The volume of securities traded on the final session of the week surged by 57,597.5 per cent to 21.3 million units from 36,988 units, and the value of shares traded at the bourse also rose by 718.5 per cent to N20.2 million from N2.5 million, while the number of deals increased by 22.2 per cent to 11 deals from nine deals.

The most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis was still Geo Fluids Plc with a turnover of 40.9 million units valued at N32.3 million, UBN Property Plc recorded a turnover of 9.7 million units worth N7.1 million to occupy the second spot, as FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria was in third place with 795,166 units valued at N52.3 million.

VFD Group Plc ended the trading session as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 420,865 units worth N102.7 million, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc was in second place with 795,166 units valued at N52.3 million, and Geo-Fluids Plc was in third place with 40.9 million units valued at N32.3 million.
