NASD Unlisted Security Index Gains 6.97 Points in Week 18

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended its presence in the green territory for yet another week with an appreciation of 0.64 per cent in Week 18.

The increase was influenced by the 6.97 points garnered in the week by the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI), closing at 1,094.65 points, in contrast to the preceding week’s 1,087.68 points.

In the same vein, the market capitalisation of the trading platform appreciated at the close of the week by N9 billion to N1.499 trillion from the N1.490 trillion quoted in Week 17.

Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc led the group of three price gainers after its value rose by 7.5 per cent to N21.50 per share from the previous week’s N20.00 per share, Aradel Holdings Plc appreciated by 2.5 per cent to close at N2,200.00 per unit versus the previous closing value of N2,145.69 per unit, and Afriland Properties Plc gained 0.5 per cent to end at N11.20 per share versus N11.15 per share.

On the flip side, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc lost 7.9 per cent to trade at N56.34 per unit versus the previous week’s N61.23 per unit, and Food Concepts Plc depreciated by 0.5 per cent to end at N2.14 per share against the previous week’s N2.15 per share.

In the four-day trading week, the volume of trades dropped by 91.1 per cent to 0.3 million units from 3.6 million units, the total value of transactions decreased by 42.4 per cent to N240.9 million from N417.8 million, and the number of deals declined by 51.2 per cent to 42 deals from 86 deals.

Food Concepts Plc was the most active stock by volume with 0.122 million units, Aradel Holdings Plc traded 0.111 million units, Afriland Properties Plc exchanged 0.029 million units, CSCS Plc transacted 0.025 million units, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc traded 0.008 million units.

Aradel Holdings Plc was the busiest by value with N238.9 million, CSCS Plc transacted N0.54 million, FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc posted N0.47 million, Afriland Properties Plc recorded N0.34 million, and 11 Plc traded N0.34 million.
