Nigerdock Graduates Trainees from Academy

One of Nigeria’s leading construction companies, Nigerdock Plc, has graduated 48 professionals from its Training and Development Academy located at Snake Island, Lagos.

The graduands were trained in various areas, ranging from Project Management, Coating Inspections, Quality Assurance/ Quality Control and Fabrication.

The trainings were sponsored by Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd in collaboration with Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) Nigeria Ltd as part of their Nigerian Content commitments and Human Capital Development (HCD) requirements for the EGINA FPSO Project.

The programme started in September 2015 and ended in April 2017.

Speaking at the close-out ceremony, the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote noted that the mandate of the Board is to build capacity for Nigerians, with a view to close identified skill gaps.

The Executive Secretary who was represented by the Manager, Human Capacity Development, Engr. Iwhiwhu Maurice Kelly stated that the programme has been successful as many of the beneficiaries have been gainfully employed.

He urged the promoters to keep track of the trainees and give them first consideration whenever there are job opportunities.

In his remarks, the Nigerian Content Manager, (SHI), Mr Imo Kalu Imo noted that the company bought into the Nigerian Content philosophy because it offered an opportunity to contribute to the growth of Human Capacity Index. He urged the graduands to put their skills to good use for their benefit and the country in general.

Also speaking, the Nigerian Content Manager on the EGINA project, Mr Taiwo Osikoya commended Samsung, Nigerdock and NCDMB for their support on the EGINA FPSO project. He also congratulated the trainees on their successful completion of their training programme.
