The total value of capital importation into Nigeria dropped by 78 per cent to $1.3 billion in the second quarter of 2020 compared to $5.9 billion reported in the first quarter of 2020.

This was contained in the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) through its Q2 2020 Nigerian Capital Importation report released on Friday, August 28.

The decrease was largely contributed by the COVID-19 pandemic and measures imposed globally to contain the spread of the virus.
