In order to deepen the knowledge of participants in the debt market, the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) is organising a two-day online seminar this week.

The webinar is slated for Wednesday, October 7 and Thursday, October 8, 2020, and would be used to engage participants on the various products and services in the fixed income market in Nigeria so as to enhance investors’ knowledge and deepen capital market activity even in these challenging times.

According to a statement issued by the exchange, Wednesday is for the dealing member firms while Thursday is for the investing public, who can register for the event via http://bit.ly/nse-fixed-income-webinar.

During the webinar tomorrow, participants will be taught the debt market structure, trading techniques, bond pricing, and the settlement of bond trades.

It was stated that the host for the programme is the CEO of the NSE, Mr Oscar Onyema, and would be joined by the Director-General of the Debt Management Office (DMO), Ms Patience Oniha as well as other industry players.

It is no doubt that the exchange, since the activation of its Business Continuity Plan, has continued to provide avenues for engagement on its various products.

The activation of the BCP saw the transition to remote working and trading on March 23, 2020, providing a platform to raise capital, transact business and build capacity virtually with zero disruptions.

Over the past months, Nigeria’s fixed income market has enjoyed significant attention with the market capitalisation growing from N12.9 trillion at the end of 2019 to N16.4 trillion year-to-date as a result of increased listing activity from the federal government and Nigerian corporates.
