Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, has asked the China African Development Bank (CADB) to help Nigerian workers come up with easier ways of having access to affordable and quality houses.
Mrs Oyo-Ita made this plea when she received the CADB at her office in Abuja recently.
The HOS said the provision of qualitative houses for civil servants was part of the present administration’s agenda for workers.
“With improved welfare and other incentives, civil servants could make great contributions towards achieving the desired results in developing and moving the nation forward,” Mrs Oyo-Ita told the delegation led by its chairman, Mr Chi Jian Xian.
According to her, the partnership was timely and in tune with the Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) programme, which was recently put in place by her office. She noted that providing affordable housing to workers could best be achieved through Public Private Partnership (PPP), and mortgage financing.
Speaking earlier, Mr Xian said his visit was aimed at fine tuning ways of collaboration and Bilateral Relations between the Office of the Head of the Civil Service and the Bank.
