Performance Indicators of Unlisted Securities Market Remain Flat

The month of August opened in the flat territory at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange as the key performance indicators remained unchanged on Monday.

Business Post reports that the market capitalisation of the NASD exchange retained the previous value of N1.031 trillion, while the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) remained unchanged at 783.05 basis points.

The stalemate witnessed at the session came as there was no price advancer or decliner at the week’s opening session.

At the close of transactions, investors traded a total of 6,463 units of securities in contrast to the 261,400 units of securities transacted in the preceding session, indicating a drop of 97.33 per cent.

Likewise, the value of shares exchanged by the market participants dropped by 87.4 per cent to 673,596.00 compared to N5.3 million recorded at the previous session.

Also, the total number of deals closed downward by 66.7 per cent as five transactions were executed compared with the 15 deals carried out last Friday.

Amid the stalemate, AG Mortgage Plc remained the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 2.3 billion units valued at N1.2 billion. Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc stood in second place with 682.6 million units worth N14.2 billion, while Food Concepts Plc was in third place with 146.5 million units valued at N127.1 million.

In the same vein, CSCS Plc maintained its position on top of the chart as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 682.6 million units exchanged for N14.2 billion, VFD Group Plc was in second place with 11.1 million units valued at N3.3 billion, while FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc was in third place with 13.5 million units valued at N1.6 billion.
