The 13th week of trading at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended the stay of the bourse in the green territory for another week with a 0.4 per cent appreciation.
In the week with four trading sessions, the market capitalisation of unlisted equities closed higher by N6 billion to N1.470 trillion from the N1.464 trillion quoted in Week 12, as the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) expanded by 0.68 points to 1,080.97 points from the previous week’s 1,080.29 points.
The market breadth was flat as there were two price gainers and two price losers led by Capital Bancorp Plc, which dipped by 4.6 per cent to end at N2.10 per share versus N2.20 per share, and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc, which went down by 1.7 per cent to N23.20 per unit as against the previous week’s N23.50 per unit.
On the flip side, Afriland Properties Plc gained 31.9 per cent to settle at N8.80 per share compared with the preceding week’s N6.67 per share, and Aradel Holdings Plc rose by 8.7 per cent to N2,152.88 per unit from the previous week’s closing value of N1,980.00 per unit.
The total volume of trades last week increased by 756.8 per cent to 39 million units from 4.6 million units, but the value of transactions declined by 26.9 per cent to N1.3 billion from N1.8 billion, and the number of deals fell by 13.9 per cent to 68 deals from 79 deals.
At the close transactions for the week, CSCS Plc was the most traded stock by volume with 33.8 million units, Geo-Fluids Plc traded 5.1 million units, Aradel Holdings Plc exchanged 0.14 million units, Afriland Properties Plc transacted 0.5 million units, and Acorn Petroleum Plc traded 0.24 million units.
Also, CSCS Plc was the most traded equity by value with N1.0 billion, Aradel Holdings Plc transacted N290 million, Geo-Fluids Plc posted N100 million, FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc recorded N6.8 million, and Afriland Properties transacted N1.4 million.
