Unlisted Stock Exchange Gains 0.39% in Week 8

The unlisted stock exchange improved on a week-on-week basis by 0.39 per cent on the back of the gains reported by three companies.

The three firms, which improved on the floor of the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange last week were, Afriland Properties Plc, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc.

The trio raised the value of the platform increased in the five-day trading week by N3.79 billion to N939.72 trillion from the N935.93 billion it closed in the preceding week.

Similarly, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) went up by 2.87 points to wrap the session at 715.15 points compared with 712.28 points recorded in the previous week.

In the week, CSCS Plc gained 0.7 per cent to settle at N13.59 per share compared with the preceding week’s N13.50 per share, Afriland Property Plc rose by 14.7 per cent to trade at N1.72 per unit, in contrast to the previous week’s N1.50 per unit, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria gained 2.3 per cent to close at N68.00 per share versus N66.45 per share.

In the week, there was a 117.1 per cent decrease in the total value of transactions to N185.4 million from N85.4 million in the previous week, the total volume of trades went down by 23.4 per cent to 72.5 million units from 94.6 million units.

At the close of the week, UBN Property Plc was the most traded security by volume with 66.00 million units, Geo-Fluids Plc traded 5.6 million units, VFD Group Plc exchanged 430,000 units, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc transacted 210,000 units, and CSCS Plc traded 140,000 units.

In terms of the value of trades in the week, VFD Group Plc topped with N0.11 billion, UBN Property Plc followed with N0.06 billion, Friesland Campina Wamco Plc posted N0.01 billion, Geo-Fluids Plc recorded N0.01 billion while CSCS Plc raked in N0.00 billion.

In the year so far, investors have traded a total of 423.6 million units in 555 deals, with a total value traded equated to N2.1 billion.
