The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended its stay in the green territory on Tuesday, September 3 with a 6.36 per cent growth, moving its value nearer to the N3 trillion mark.
It was observed that the market capitalisation of the OTC stock exchange went up by N176.64 billion to wrap the session at N2.956 trillion compared with the N2.779 trillion it closed in the preceding session.
Similarly, the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) grew by 128.90 points to finish the session at 2,157.15 points, in contrast to the previous day’s 2,028.25 points.
Business Post reports that Aradel Holdings Plc improved its price by N815.49 yesterday to end at N8,970.35 per unit compared with Monday’s closing price of N8,154.86 per unit, and Geo Fluids Plc jumped by 20 Kobo to settle at N2.40 per share, in contrast to the N2.20 per share it sold a day earlier.
Conversely, Acorn Petroleum Plc recorded a decline of 10 Kobo to quote at 90 Kobo per unit versus N1.00 per unit, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) lost 21 Kobo to trade at N20.26 per share compared with the previous day’s N20.47 per share, and Afriland Properties Plc depreciated by 9 Kobo to close at N14.61 per unit compared with the previous day’s N14.70 per unit.
During the trading day, the volume of securities traded by investors increased by 0.2 per cent to 5.33 million units from the 5.3 million units traded in the preceding session, and the value of traded stocks grew by 165.6 per cent to N612.9 million from N230.8 million, while the number of deals executed by the market participants declined by 4.9 per cent to 39 deals from 41 deals.
The most active stock for the trading session was Geo-Fluids, which transacted 5.0 million units valued at N12.0 million in a single deal. CSCS Plc traded 110,200 million units worth N2.2 million in 11 deals, Afriland Properties sold 79,884 units for N1.2 million in 3 deals, Acorn Petroleum exchanged 70,000 units for N63,000 in a single deal and Aradel Holdings traded 66,607 units valued at N597.5 million in 14 deals.
