Unlisted Stock Exchange Records 0.35% Loss

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a 0.35 per cent depreciation on Tuesday, May 16, reducing the value of the bourse by N3.51 billion to N1.001 trillion from the N1.005 trillion achieved reported in the preceding session.

In the same vein, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) went down by 2.54 points to wrap the session at 724.20 points compared with 726.74 points recorded in the previous session.

The decline suffered during the trading day was influenced by the N12.49 loss reported by 11 Plc as its value finished at N115.00 per unit compared with the N127.49 per unit it closed a day earlier.

However, Geo-Fluids Plc gained 22 Kobo to trade at N2.80 per share versus Monday’s closing price of N2.58 per share, as FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc appreciated by 3 Kobo to N70.50 per unit from N70.47 per unit.

During the session, the volume of securities traded by investors decreased by 76.5 per cent to 1.5 million units from 6.5 million units, the value of shares traded by the market participants went down by 94.4 per cent to N25.4 million from the N451.4 million reported a day earlier, while the number of deals carried out slumped by 63.6 per cent to eight deals from the 22 deals carried out in the preceding trading day.

Geo-Fluids Plc remained the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 831.9 million units valued at N1.3 billion, Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc stood in second place with the sale of 627.7 units worth N49.4 million, while UBN Property Plc was in third place with 390.9 million units valued at N332.0 million.

Also, VFD Group Plc remained the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 10.4 million units worth N2.4 billion, Geo-Fluids Plc followed with 831.9 million units valued at N1.3 billion, while FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc was in third place with 12.3 million units worth N865.7 million.
