Unlisted Stock Investors Lose N720m in 26th Trading Week of 2024

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended its stay in the negative territory in the 26th week of trading in 2024 following a further 0.03 per cent depreciation.

This shrank the portfolios of unlisted stock investors by N720 million during the week to leave the market capitalisation at N2.100 trillion compared with the N2.101 trillion it ended in Week 25, as the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) went down by 0.53 points to 1,533.00 points from 1,533.53 points.

Purple Real Estate Plc led the losers’ chart after it shed 1o per cent to close at N4.68 per share compared with the preceding week’s N5.20 per share, First Trust Microfinance Bank dipped by 9.8 per cent to close at 37 Kobo per unit versus the previous closing value of 41 Kobo per unit, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc lost 2.4 per cent to end at N20.50 per share versus N21.00 per share, and Aradel Holdings Plc slid by 0.06 per cent to close at N5,000.00 per unit versus the previous closing value of N5,003.15 per unit.

On the flip side, Afriland Properties Plc gained 6.5 per cent to end at N18.10 per share compared with the earlier week’s N17.00 per share, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc rose by 3.8 per cent to N46.16 per unit from the previous week’s N44.48 per unit.

In the week, the total volume of transactions surged by 1,462.9 per cent to 39.2 million units from 2.6 million units, the total value of trades increased by 425.3 per cent to N1.46 billion from N278.8 million, and the number of deals went up by 49.8 per cent to 223 deals from 112 deals.

Capital Hotels Plc was the most traded security by volume with 31.1 million units, followed by Geo Fluids Plc with 5.1 million units, Purple Real Estate Plc exchanged 1.4 million units, UBN Property Plc transacted 0.5 million units, and Afriland Properties Plc traded 0.4 million units.

Aradel Holdings Plc ended as the most traded stock by value in the week with N1.3 billion, Capital Hotels Plc recorded N155 million, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc posted N110 million, Geo Fluids Plc recorded N100 million, and Afriland Properties Plc traded N70 million.
