Value of Nigeria’s Unlisted Stock Exchange Reaches N1.2trn

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a 1.6 per cent appreciation on Friday, December 8, as investors gained about N19.12 billion to push the valuation of the unlisted bourse to N1.202 trillion from the N1.182 trillion it closed in the preceding session.

This achievement was influenced by the gains recorded by the trio of Aradel Holdings Plc, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc.

Data showed that Aradel Holdings Plc improved its value by N30 to settle at N900.00 per unit compared with the previous day’s N870.00 per unit, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc expanded by N1.90 to finish at N75.00 share versus Thursday’s closing price of N76.90 per share and CSCS Plc rose by N1.74 to end the session at N19.25 per unit, in contrast to the preceding session’s N17.51 per unit.

At the close of business, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) went up by 13.96 points to wrap the session at 886.50 points compared with the 872.54 points recorded in the previous session.

Yesterday, the volume of securities traded by investors increased by 1,349.8 per cent to 807,496 units from 55,699 units, the value of shares transacted jumped by 577.4 per cent to N57.1 million from the N8.4 million achieved a day earlier, and the number of deals carried out improved by 175 per cent to 22 deals from the eight deals executed in the previous trading day.

CSCS Plc closed the day as the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 1.2 billion units worth N22.4 billion, UBN Property Plc was in second place with 1.1 billion units valued at N1.2 billion, and Geo-Fluids Plc stood in third place with 729.5 million units sold for N1.4 billion.

Also, CSCS Plc ended as the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with 1.2 billion units valued at N22.4 billion, VFD Group followed with 26.6 million units worth N5.9 billion, and Aradel Holdings Plc was in third place with 7.8 million units valued at N3.1 billion.
