The Lagos State Commissioner for the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, Mr Babatunde Durosinmi–Etti has charged youths graduating from the Lagos Study Programme to take a stand against unemployment and make good use of the skill imparted in them.
Speaking at the graduation and closing ceremony of the first batch of graduates trained in ICT organized by the Ministry in collaboration with Audax Solution, Microsoft, Goggle, Sterling Bank and Lagos Study Programme, Mr Babatunde Durosinmi–Etti who was represented by Mrs Bisi Bocco, Director of Accounts in the Ministry enjoined the young entrepreneurs that “a new course has been charted in your lives through the skill gotten during the 11- week training, make entrepreneurship your goal as paid employment may not take you to the dreamland.”
The Commissioner informed that another batch of 100 graduates will be trained in software development skills for 11 weeks after having undergone a transparent and competitive selection process to qualify them for the programme.
Mr Durosinmi –Etti thanked the partners for their support and belief in the vision of the Ministry.
The representative of Sterling Bank, Mrs Bimpe Ibekwu told the graduating entrepreneurs to stay focused on their goals and inform other young graduates about the benefits of the State Government’s youth programme.
