The biennial inter-house sports of Starfield College, Lagos held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Agege Stadium received the support of a microfinance bank with a national license from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Advans Nigeria.
The small lender threw its weight behind the glamorous event as part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
It was gathered that the bank, recognizing the importance of educational resources, provided a financial donation and distributed essential school supplies to outstanding students.
“Our involvement with Starfield College exemplifies this commitment,” the chief executive of Advans Nigeria, Mr Gaetan Debuchy, said.
“We are honoured to have played a role in their biennial sports event and look forward to continuing to support educational programs and projects throughout Nigeria,” he added.
Also commenting, the Head of Marketing and Communications, Mr Kayode Abraham, said, “At Advans Nigeria, we believe that education is a fundamental pillar for societal development.
“Our collaboration with Starfield College reflects our dedication to nurturing young talents and creating opportunities for a brighter future.”
On his part, the Director of Studies at Starfield College, Mr Chris Eigbe, expressed his gratitude for Advans Nigeria’s support, highlighting the significant impact of such partnerships.
“We are grateful for Advans Nigeria’s generous contribution.
“Partnerships like this enable us to enhance educational outcomes and enrich the academic journeys of our students,” he enthused.
Business Post reports that the inter-house sports competition saw students compete in various sporting activities, fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition.
In the primary school category, White House was the overall winner with 10 gold, nine silver and nine bronze medals, and Blue House was the overall winner in the secondary school category after clinching 12 gold, seven silver and four bronze medals.
