The mock examination for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examinations (UTME) organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) will hold as planned on Saturday, April 29, 2017 (today).
The exam was earlier slated to hold on April 8, 2017, but was postponed till today due to some technical issues, which JAMB said have been resolved.
On Friday night, the agency released a statement to refute reports being circulated that the exercise had been shifted again.
Spokesperson of JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin, in the statement, described peddlers of the reports as “mischievous characters,” confusing Nigerians with “misleading messages.”
He urged the general public and candidates to disregard such messages as the mock examination would hold today as planned.
“The JAMB voluntary mock examination is slated for Saturday April 29, 2017. This examination has not been postponed and candidates are urged to disregard any contrary and misleading messages being circulated by mischievous characters who want to create confusion and apprehension.
“JAMB wishes all candidates participating a successful outcome in the mock exercise,” the JAMB spokesman said in the statement.
This is the first time the examination agency is carrying out a mock exercise for its UTME. It is conducted for those who want to test their UTME skill and it is free for candidates.
