Teachers who applied to work at public primary schools in Oyo State will begin their Computer-Based Tests (CBT) on Monday, July 29, 2024.
The exercise will last for three days instead of the five days earlier planned for it, a statement from the Oyo State Post Primary Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) confirmed.
The timetable, Business Post gathered, was adjusted on the heels of the envisaged nationwide protest that may commence on Thursday, August 1, 2024.
Recall that the chairman of TESCOM, Mr Akinade Alamu, in Ibadan, announced that the CBT examination for job seekers was fixed for July 29 to August 2, 2024.
But to forestall any unforeseen circumstances, the commission and its partnering agencies, including the management of the University of Ibadan DLC, agreed to compress the examination days to three, now to be held from July 29 to 31, 2024.
Mr Alamu maintained that all arrangements have been made with the relevant stakeholders, adding that the change will not pose any threat to the candidates, as the management of DLC agreed to provide more facilities, men, and logistics to the already provided support.
“After a tripartite meeting among all relevant stakeholders, DLC has agreed to provide more halls, computers, and facilities so that the test can spread across three days,” he noted, appealing to candidates to regularly check their phones, as texts and emails have been sent to them already and could be checked on the Oyo State job portal.
It was disclosed that on Monday, the subjects to be taken include Biology, Islamic Religion Studies, Christian Religious Studies, Literature in English, Mathematics, French, Commerce, Chemistry and Business Studies.
On Tuesday, the applicants will sit for English Language, Finance and Accounting, Government, Economic, Computer Science, Guidance and Counselling, Physics and Music.
The next day, it will be turn for Agricultural Science, Arabic Studies, Social Studies, Business Science and Technology, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts, Yoruba, Geography, History, Home Economic and Nutrition, and Physical Health Education.
