A leading figure in the logistics and supply chain industry in Nigeria, Mr Rabiu Kabir, will next month be conferred with an honorary doctorate degree award by the London Graduate School in collaboration with the Commonwealth University of London.

Mr Kabir is being bestowed with this honour in recognition of his contribution to the global transportation sector.

In a letter by the Head of Department of Continuing Education Program at the London Graduate School, Ms Sadiksha Rai, it was stated that the awardee was chosen because of his “selfless service and laudable contributions” to his field.

This will give Mr Kabir the opportunity to “share ideas with other scholars, leaders and managers and draw on each other’s experiences” at the Leadership Summit of the institution scheduled for March 29 to 31, 2022, in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

“You also will share your valuable expertise with other important leaders in your sphere. The purpose is to spark a process that will bring about the dramatic growth in all directions of your life in the coming years,” the letter further said.

In his remarks, Mr Kabir expressed his gratitude to the school for finding him worthy of such honour, saying “it is the greatest that could come to a person in recent times.”

“I am very aware of the responsibilities that await me as I accept this challenge and will strive unceasingly to try to fulfil the trust and confidence that this great institution has placed in me and the things in which I believe.

“I am very grateful to international organizations of this kind who recognize the things we do in our little ways both professionally and socially.

“Wishing this will further project the good works coming from this side of the continent. I am truly overwhelmed by such an Honorary Degree coming from the Commonwealth University of London and the London Graduate School, it will serve as a platform to further propel me to do more than is expected from me by continuing to contribute to uplifting my continent and serving as a source of inspiration to humanity in little and impactful ways,” he enthused.

Mr Rabiu graduated from Ahmadu Bello University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and proceeded to the University of Lagos for a Master’s degree in Transport Planning and Management.

He is a fellow Institute of Management Consultants and a Certified Management Specialist with distinction in Time Management from the London Graduate School.
