Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora, Ms Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, has been announced as the winner of the Radio Nigeria Outstanding Hero of the year.

The lawmaker clinched the coveted award last Saturday for her exceptional contribution as a member at the lower chamber of the National Assembly. She represents the Oluyole Federal Constituency of Oyo State.

The acting Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria, Ibadan Zonal Station, Mrs Bolanle Owoyemi, explained that the congresswoman was picked for the award for her courage and leadership role, having also shown tangible results as representative of a constituency.

Mrs Owoyemi said her performances in quality representation and delivery of excellent services as a federal lawmaker prompted the Ibadan Zonal Office to recognise her.

She ascertained that Ms Akande-Sadipe has contributed meaningfully to the legislative arm, through several motions, facilitating empowerment programmes, transformers, schools, boreholes and road repairs across her constituency.

She described her as an astute public personality with an unbeatable track record and a leader of a reputable standard, whom Oluyole Federal Constituency is lucky to have.

Speaking on her honour, Ms Akande-Sadipe expressed her gratitude to the leadership of Radio Nigeria, South-West Zone for recognising her contributions to the development of Nigeria.

She called on women to join politics, where they could contribute their quota to the growth of the nation’s economy.

The Outstanding Hero Award of Radio Nigeria is a nationally recognised leadership award dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the achievements of individuals in leadership.
