Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has hinted that he may pursue his political career under another platform apart from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mr Fayose made this disclosure on Wednesday while addressing members of the Suppliers’ Association of Nigeria, Ikere chapter in the state.
The Governor expressed confidence that whichever party he goes to, he would get the support of Ekiti people, boasting that he belongs to them.
Mr Fayose was speaking on the backdrop of the just-concluded election in Ondo State, which was won by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“We are still studying the situation. We have to play the game left, right and centre and whoever we are going to use and the platform, you will all be part of the process because party politics is about the people,” Mr Fayose told his audience.
Furthermore, the Governor said, “You all saw how people sold their votes in Ondo State, I am confident that that will not happen in Ekiti. I am close to the people you are the source of my strength.
“Even if it requires just 48 hours to any election, if I tell you where to go, you will surely follow me there.”
Mr Fayose promised to continue to relate with the people, describing himself as a grass root politician, who knows where the shoe pinches the masses.
