Lagos Abeokuta Expressway

A construction firm, Granebur Contrition Company, has commenced a 24-hour rehabilitation of a part of  the Logos/Abeokuta Expressway.

This resulted into the traffic gridlock experienced by commuters and motorists of the road on Friday and Saturday.

More than 10 construction trucks and caterpillar were busy labeling  some portions of the expressway around Omiyale, Aitede, Pakoto, and Sango Ota, and were being protected by some security officials, including the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and the Department of State Service (DSS).

Several passengers and others plying the road spent hours on a spot on the axis as the the company repaired a section of the busy expressway.

It was partcularly hectic around the Pakoto and Tecno Bus Stop in the Ifo area of the Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway.

This reporter gathered that at a point yesterday, motorists were forced to take inner streets to escape the standstill.

A factory manager of Tecno Mechanical Limited, Mr Sam Adewale, who lives in Lagos, informed Business Post that he was forced to return to office, parked his car to trek from Techo to Omiyale before boarding a vehicle to Toll Gate for N1,000.

Most motorists complained about the extortion by some youths around Aiyede Town, where Ipa Eniyan Prayer Mountain is located.

They claimed the youths blocked some of the inner streets from Pakoto thorough to Vesper Bus Stop around Ifo Polythenic, collecting money from them.
