A group has purchased the nomination and expression of interest forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Mr Jonathan, fondly called GEJ (Goodluck Ebele Jonathan), was ousted by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 when both contested under different political parties.
While the former president was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the incumbent president was the candidate of the APC (then an opposition party).
Nigerians voted him out of Aso Rock after the APC promised to change the fortunes of citizens for good and when the power was clinched, the PDP was accused of running the country aground.
There have been rumours that Mr Jonathan will get the ticket of the APC and be allowed to complete a second four-year term in office under its platform.
On Monday, a group of Fulanis paid N100 million to obtain the forms for the former president, who recently said he’s undecided concerning the 2023 presidential election.
According to reports, the forms would be presented to him for the necessary action, though it is not clear yet if he is currently a card-carrying member of the ruling party.
