The Lagos State Government has re-affirmed its commitment to run an inclusive government as well as enhance quality lives of all residents in the state.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Steve Ayorinde, disclosed this in his keynote address at a one-day workshop on People’s Perception Survey held at the Combo Hall of LTV 8, Agidingbi, Ikeja, with a view to assessing the level of government’s policies, programmes and projects as perceived by the populace.

Mr Ayorinde stated that the policy guideline of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode led administration is basically participatory at the grassroots level in order to cater for the welfare of the citizenry, through its people oriented programmes and projects in the various sectors of the economy.

According to him, “There is need to ensure that all Lagosians irrespective of their gender, age, tribe and religion are adequately informed about government programmes through sustainable information dissemination and public enlightenment strategies”.

He declared that the workshop marked the beginning of the pilot survey process deliberately organised to afford Lagosians the opportunity to bare their minds on various policies, programmes and projects as it affects them to enable the State Government proffer solutions to challenges and limitations militating against optimal service delivery in the State.

Speaking earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Mr Fola Adeyemi, commended the administration of Mr Ambode for this laudable initiative which encourages feedback on how Lagosians perceive government activities.

He enjoined the state technical team to be diligent and ensure that the outcome of the exercise can positively assist the government to evolve more policies and programmes as dividend of democracy to the people.
