My Leadership Style is Devoid of Bitterness—Ikpeazu

The Governor of Abia State, Mr Okezie Ikpeazu, has said he does not see politics as a do-or-die affair as his leadership style is devoid of bitterness.

The Governor said when he recently received the Senate Chief Whip and former governor of Abia State, Mr Orji Uzor Kalu, at his Umuobiakwa country home in Obingwa Local Government Area.

The lawmaker visited the Governor to laud his giant strides, especially the quality of roads he (the Governor) has delivered in Aba.

He said Mr Ikpeazu has galvanised human and material resources in the state for the good of all, commending him for the peace and security enjoyed in the state during the festivities,

Mr Kalu said he was elated by the quality of roads that dotted the landscape and the numerous achievements of the governor in diversified areas.

He thanked his concerted efforts in rebuilding and repositioning the state, adding that the Governor’s leadership style was exemplary.

While appealing to the Governor to extend his caterpillar revolution to Umuahia-Bende-Akara-Igbere-Ohafia expressway, noted that despite repeated appeals through the federal ministry of works, the federal government has failed to reconstruct the road.

In his response, Mr Ikpeazu explained that the essence of leadership is service to the people, noting that his style of leadership was devoid of bitterness and unnecessary bickering.

He appreciated Mr Kalu and called on other Abia elites to identify with the government’s efforts in its bid to take Abia to the next level.

The Governor said that he was looking forward to wooing opposition elements in the state to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a party he described as the only platform that can achieve peace and prosperity of the country.
