Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State have been applauded for the peaceful conduct of the party’s ward congress over the weekend.

The lawmaker representing the area at the National Assembly, Ms Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, in a statement issued by her media aide, Mr Olamilekan Olusada, said the politicians were orderly during the APC congress.

The House of Representatives members said she was really impressed with the exercise, noting that with what she observed, the future looks bright for the party in the state.

In the statement, Ms Akande-Sadipe thanked these crops of participants from all the wards in her constituency for their tenacity to maintain peace despite provocation.

However, she berated the troublesome nature of some elements who tried to cause trouble during the congress.

“In spite of the elements who tried to ferment trouble, we thank God no lives were lost during the APC party congress in Oluyole,” she said.

“As per eye witness accounts, in some wards some troublesome elements, whose popularity had waned over time, came with an ulterior motive, brandishing guns, in an attempt to disrupt and kill, but all glory to God their attempt to cause unforetold mayhem failed,” the lawmaker said gleefully.

APC congresses were held across the nation last Saturday to usher in new ward excos of the national ruling party across the country.
